TVEyes First to Offer English Search and Alert for Globe's Leading Foreign Language TV & Radio Stations
Media Monitoring Suite Users Can Search and Read Transcripts in English for Programming Originating in Nine Languages
FAIRFIELD, CT--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 20, 2006 -- Until now, monitoring global broadcast media required trained language specialists. Today's announcement from TVEyes, Inc., the leading provider of real-time search and monitoring systems for domestic and international television and radio, makes it possible for users to search and read transcripts in English, greatly expanding the number of workers in an organization who can provide needed broadcast monitoring support.
"TVEyes offers the only solution for organizations with more foreign language interest than their linguists can process," said David J. Ives, president and chief executive officer of TVEyes, Inc. "It's imperative to have immediate warning when events occur overseas that can affect national or corporate interests. Only TVEyes makes it possible to get this vital insight in real-time."
Users of the system enter search and alert keywords in English against broadcasts originating in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese or Spanish. Results of the query are displayed with a machine-generated English translation of the transcript; the audio or video can be played in its original language. Alerts are monitored in real-time and users are notified within seconds of the original broadcast when their keywords appear on-air.
In political, governmental and journalistic environments this new capability will enable comparison of dual-language broadcasters such as Al Jazeera, which recently announced an English-language service. TVEyes' U.S. Government users include the Office of the Secretary of Defense, public affairs offices of the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines, Centcom Iraq and more. Media industry users include The Christian Science Monitor, The New York Post, National Public Radio, Air America Radio, Time Inc., Wonkette, TVnewser and Media Matters for America.
"Our mission is to remain the gold standard in real-time broadcast intelligence worldwide," concluded Ives. "The foreign language support announced today is one of many differentiators between our Media Monitoring Suite and any competing solution."
